*50's/60's Ladylike
The silhouettes of the 1950s and 1960s make a strong return, with shapes that accentuate curves think femininity. A hip-hugging sheath dress with a below-the-knee hem is the ultimate in hourglass dressing, while the full circle skirt and dress remain at the core of the trend Full, below-the-knee circle skirts, cinched in waists, and prim, proper styling.
*Sophisticated '70s
This look is sure to see it's way into 2011, by day it's all about high waists, wide legs, soft blouses and '70s accessories. By night, all that shimmers is gold. Flowing, draping dresses in high-shine fabrics or metallic hues are perfect for evening '70s glamour. Be bold and don't hold back, this look is about balancing softness with boldness.
*Military Fashion
Yes, military remains a trend for Fall 2010 but not as you've previously come to know it. Military fashion as a trend is nothing new, But while fashion trends tend to burn out within a few years, the women's military fashion trend isn't going anywhere, though like all true fashion trends, the military trend will evolve. Military is now about functionality and utility. If the 18th and 19th centuries originally inspired women's military fashion, then it's true to say that in 2010 it's inspired by the military uniforms of the 20th century.
How to wear it Gold detailing and ornate trims set off slick military cuts. There are a number of different looks you can create - from rock to edgy-feminine to bohemian.
Rock: For the ultimate in rock chic, skinny pants or shiny leggings with a Military cut jacket. Wear with killer heels.
Feminine
A military jacket can also be played up with a feminine touch. Think Ralph Lauren; a boxy, red military-inspired jacket paired with a floor-length dress. It's impractical, and it works.

Bohemian Luxe
Throw on a pair of over-the-knee fringed boots with skinny pants, boho prints, and a military jacket for a sexy bohemian look..

*Leather Clothing
Yes, it is on trend but it's hard to categorize. Leather works in with so many other trends and isn't a style unto itself. You'll wear it with military and you'll buy hot pants made out of it. The leather trend is extending into pretty much every other trend for the season. You name it, it'll be an option for your wardrobe in the colder months. Leather in 2010 can take the form of pretty much any item of clothing. If you can name it the odds are that someone's sent it down the runway in leather. Pants, skirts, shorts, coats, dresses, jackets, vests; they're all there
*Man-Up(Suits and Buttoned up Collars)
Menswear-inspired suiting and outerwear are key looks—
Complimentary trends: Pair a buttoned-up shirt with leather pieces to keep the look firmly in modern, edgy territory. You can rock up a shirt by adding a leather biker or go for a crisp white shirt paired with a tan leather skirt. Work a strict buttoned up shirt into an on-trend military outfit. Pull on some knee high / over the knee socks. It will inject a sense of playful, girlish sexiness that's balanced out perfectly by your geek-chic high collar.
*Metallic Gold
Although silver was present in some designs on the runway, the main metallic color in most collections was gold. Add metallics to your own wardrobe by simply updating your style with some gold accessories, such as golden pumps, totes, belts, scarves or gloves. These trendy accessories will give you a punch of glamour. Metallic embellishment can jazz up any day or evening ensemble.
To get the best out of your metallic look, make sure to follow these final golden rules:
- Be careful when selecting your metallic, you don’t want the material to look like you decided to get creative with your roll of aluminum foil. Shiny satin, lamé and glossy, high-tech fabrics look great in metallic.
- Shimmer also has a tendency to accentuate bulges; if something looks wrong, don’t be afraid to simply walk away.
- This fall’s metallic style looks great worn from head-to-toe or simply as a fun accessory. Have fun with this trend!
*Velvet
Fall 2010 revival of velvet presents some great new options for your wardrobe. How to wear it? You can go for a grunge girl look to the classically elegant starlet, the vintage-inspired girl to the masculine-as-feminine velvet clad woman... Quality is key, colours are rich, and it can work for everything from pants to dresses, handbags to hats.
Tips on wearing velvet: If you don't want to go all out on velvet clothing, don't forget that you can always inject a bit of velvet into your wardrobe by way of accessories. Headbands, bows, handbags or gloves are some prime examples.
